Without Expressways / Heavy Traffic: Can easily exceed 7.5 hours. The winding mountain roads from the base of the hills up to Ella are slow-going.

Key Factor: The climb into the hills itself is slow due to winding roads, buses, and trucks. This is the main reason for the long travel time relative to the distance.
